Photos for Google Maps: Make photos and upload it on your own. Help the community to improve its database of places. You should have a Picasa account.
My "best" Places/Create places: Now you can add description to places as "Best Cinema on town". What's more, Google Maps allows you to "create places" if after trying to check-in you realize that the place doesn't exist. Once created every user can check-in using Google Latitude.
Maps offline: Now you can download map area and save it on your cache for an off-line navigation.
