Chrome Beta

Chrome Beta is the official Android version of Chrome browser

First off, you should know that this beta version is only available for devices with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. If you own one, you can start enjoying this awesome browser, otherwise you'll have to wait a bit longer.

Google Inc. has worked to keep the essence of Chrome's desktop version into Android: simplicity and fast-navigation. Running away from the baroque, the design is minimalist as well as its desktop version: white and grey background with only two bars, one at the top to search or type URL and one at the bottom with three tabs for favorites, bookmarks and sync. The latter is one of the most interesting features that Chrome for Android brings: it allows access to the tabs you've open on your computer.

The strongest point of Chrome Beta for Android are the tabs, specifically, its tabs-management. It works similar to built-in Ice Cream Sandwich task-killer. Tap on the right button of the search bar (at the bottom) and a list of open tabs will be displayed. Navigate through them, select one by tapping or remove one by flipping right or left. This makes navigation through tabs fast and easy.

By tapping on your device's menu button a list menu pops up with the basic stuff you can perform: open a new tab, mark as favorite, bookmark, sync-button, find in page, setttings and Incognito tab which allows you to navigate without trace in history or cookies.

Chrome Beta for Android is amazingly fast. Actually, one of the fastest we've reviewed so far. And we're talking about a full version, not a "mini" version. Besides fast-navigation, all its performance is highly fluent (transitions between tabs, screen rotation...) what makes us feeling that it's even faster.

The only catch: it doesn't support flash. We don't know if Google has done it on purpose. Maybe is a message to developers to make them switching definetly into HTML5.
